It is designed to give frontline home care managers the skills and tools they need to help their clinical team improve. They learn and apply best practices in pain management for home care patients including:

  • Pain screening and intensity assessment
  • Pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain relief
  • Developing care plans for older persons with pain
  • Communicating with physicians about pain issues

Tuition
Tuition for the Geriatric Pain Management course is $149 per participant. 
 
If your agency is a member of one of the following state associations you get a discounted tuition of $109 per participant:
  • Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts
  • Home Care Association of New York State
  • Pennsylvania Homecare Association
  • Home Care Association of Washington
 
California Nurse Managers: The generosity of the California HealthCare Foundation, based in Oakland, CA, allows us to offer a discounted tuition of $109 for front line nurse managers from California agencies.
 
Continuing Education
RNs will receive 17* CE contact hours upon completion of the course. Partial credit will not be given for partial completion of the course. 
 
*California licensed RNs receive 20.5 CE contact hours based on differences in the way the state of California calculates these hours.
